Always make sure there is ample pond water circulation and aeration when using this product. Using the enclosed scoop, add one level scoop of Eco-Librium to a bucket of warm water for every 85 gallons of pond water. Stir bucket thoroughly and allow Eco-Librium to dissolve completely. Pour bucket of water evenly throughout your pond. The pond water may appear slightly cloudy but will dissipate in a couple of days. This will be affected by your chemistry of your pond water. Repeat above treatment once every 10 days for a month. This should bring the pond into a biological and chemical balance, but may need to be repeated more often depending on the water chemistry in your area.
Conditions that may Affect the Efficiency of Eco-Librium:
> Too much direct sunlight during the day in the summer—Provide some source of shade or plant heavily in and around the pond.
> High nitrate levels in the pond water—Nitrates are stimulants for the growth of algae. Control high nitrate levels by performing water changes with AP Pond Safe water on a regular basis.
> High calcium levels in the pond water—Calcium is an important nutrient for algae to thrive. Check for calcium rich sources such as untreated concrete, chalk or limestone, which might be used in or around the pond.
> Poor water quality in the pond—Use a pond water test kit to check water quality levels on a regular basis. A successful water garden depends on good water conditions. Use AP Pond Barley Straw Extract, Pond Biozyme and Crystal Clear to help maintain optimum water quality in your water garden.
> Insufficient plant nutrients or fertilizers—Help boost the healthy growth of pond plants by using nitrate and phosphate free APPond FloraBoost or FloraBoost Tabs aquatic plant fertilizer on a regular basis.
