It is inevitable that a difficult time will come in every aquarist's life when fish that can no longer recover from a serious disease or fatal injury must be euthanized. This is never an easy task to face but can now be done quickly, humanely and peacefully without causing stress to injured fish or aquarist. Euthanase is the last step for aquarium fish that do not respond to all known medical treatment for its condition, suffering needlessly or appear to have no quality of life left to live. Euthanase is the responsible thing to do in order to put a fish out if its misery and shorten the period of suffering before its own inevitable death occurs. The most appropriate time to consider Euthanase is when highly contagious or untreatable diseases and life threatening injuries occur. Common examples are fish that do not respond to medications or repeatedly go through bouts of disease without curing. Physically damaged fish that sustain near fatal injuries as a result of fighting or aggression should also be considered for Euthanase treatments. If left in the aquarium, these injured and sick fish are weakened from disease and become easy targets and breeding grounds for harmful pathogens. This deadly infestation can quickly spread and infect other fish in the aquarium with severe and tragic consequences. This product is not designed to be added directly to the aquarium. The injured fish should be removed and treated separately in adifferent container. A two step dosing process is simple and easy to administer. Add the first dose of Euthanase to the container to put the fish into a deep peaceful sleep. The final passing stage occurs when the second dose of Euthanase is given to the fish. This product is to be used only when all known medical efforts to cure severely ill or injured fish have been taken in which the fish did not respond to treatment. Not for human consumption. For aquarium and ornamental fish use only. Euthanase is not to be use for fish which are used for human consumption.

> Humane alternative for sick or injured fish

This product is to be used only when all known medical efforts to cure severely ill or injured fish have been taken in which the fish did not respond to treatment. Shake bottle well before using. Fill a suitable sized container with aquarium water that contains the sick or injured fish. For larger fish and treatment containers, increase dosage proportionally:

Amount of water | 1ST Dosage Amount | 2ND dosage AMOUNT
1 Cup (8 ounces) > 15 drops (1/8 teaspoon) > 15 drops (1/8 teaspoon)
1 Pint (16 ounces) > 30 drops (1/4 teaspoon) > 30 drops (1/4 teaspoon)
1 Quart (32 ounces) > 60 drops (1/2 teaspoon) > 60 drops (1/2 teaspoon)
1 Gallon (128 ounces) > 240 drops (2 teaspoons) > 240 drops (2 teaspoons)

Place the sick or injured fish in the container. Using the dosage amounts listed above, add the first dosage of Euthanase® to the container and swirl water in the container very gently. Cover the container with a lid or towel and wait for 10 minutes. This process will calm the fish and put it into a deep peaceful sleep. Remove the cover and add the second dose of Euthanase®. Swirl water in the container very gently and cover for another 15-20 minutes. The final passing phase should be complete in 15-20 minutes or when signs of life in the fish are no longer present. Properly dispose of the deceased fish and wash treatment container thoroughly with soap and water.
